Manchester United Considering Sanchez Loan

Chilean Could Have Played His Last Game

Alexis Sanchez Manchester United

Manchester United are looking at a loan move away from the club for Alexis Sanchez. The Chile international has had a torrid time of it at Old Trafford and reports today suggest he is no longer part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans.

Sanchez is currently out with an injury and looks likely to be sidelined for eight weeks. He may have played his final game for the club. But according to The Sun, United will look to send Sanchez out on loan this summer.

United are looking to get at least some of the 30-year-old’s wages off the books – the main driver behind this. However, unless Sanchez makes a move to China or the Middle East – which looks unlikely – they are likely to have to subsidise the £505,000 they currently pay Sanchez.

Clubs in Serie A and La Liga are likely to be interested.

Sanchez’s current deal at Old Trafford runs to 2022.

Solskjaer Closer To Permanent Deal?

Meanwhile, Zinedine Zidane’s return to Real Madrid means there is one less candidate for the permanent manager’s job at Old Trafford.

Zidane left the Bernabeu at the end of last season but two managers later Real have decided they want him back. His re-appointment was confirmed last night.

The Frenchman was a candidate for the job at Manchester United and his decision to take on the Real role opens up the possibility that he was alerted to the fact that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will soon be announced as the permanent manager at Old Trafford.

Some outlets claim the Norwegian will be confirmed during the international break later this month. Solskjaer’s interim contract expires at the end of this season. But after impressing during his three months in charge he looks set to be awarded a permanent deal.

United have always insisted that an appointment about the new manager will only be made at the end of the season. But with the side challenging for a top four spot, Zidane back at the Bernabeu and the prospect of long, drawn-out negotiations over Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino, Solskjaer is the only realistic candidate left.

United Track Dutchman

Manchester United are being linked once again with PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn. The 21-year-old – valued at £30million – has been watched by scouts from Old Trafford.

Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan are also keeping tabs.
