Arsenal News: Antony, Rabiot

Gunners Scouts Keeping Tabs

Arsenal transfer news

Arsenal are one of a number of clubs tracking Sao Paulo youngster Antony. Scouts from the Emirates and Dutch side Ajax have both watched the 19-year-old in action in recent weeks in the state Paulista championship.

Antony signed a new deal at the Brazilian club during the second half of 2018 and Sao Paulo won’t allow him to leave for anything less than €30million (£26million).

Arsenal, Liverpool Lead Race For Rabiot

Arsenal look set to battle it out with Liverpool for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The France international is out of contract at the end of the season and is refusing to put pen to paper on a new deal.

The Gunners have a long-standing interest in Rabiot that dates back to 2014 when his previous contract was in its final year. PSG forced Rabiot to play with the reserves until he signed a new deal. This time they have banished him to the stands and told him he won’t play for the club again.

Rabiot is looking for €10-15million a year in wages – the equivalent of £170-260,000 a week. He also wants a €10million signing-on bonus given that he won’t attract a transfer fee.

Barcelona have also been linked. But after seemingly agreeing terms with the Catalan side he has since kept them waiting over an agreement.

Reports claim Barca are no longer interesting although they shouldn’t be ruled out just yet.

Rabiot is believed to have stipulated Champions League football at whichever club he moves to.
