Arsenal To Re-Open Banega Talks?
Arsenal are being linked with a fresh move for Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega. The Argentina international was a transfer target for the Gunners last summer. However, the 30-year-old has a release clause of €20million (£18million) in his contract with the Spanish club that proved to be a stumbling block. That figure rises to €25million in the final ten days of each transfer window.
The Daily Mirror claims that Arsenal are ready to re-open talks this summer. The paper claims that coach Unai Emery sees Banega as the man to replace Aaron Ramsey who leaves for Juventus at the end of this campaign.
Emery has managed Banega twice before: at Sevilla and prior to that at Valencia.
But Banega’s age could be a problem – he turns 31 in July. If Denis Suarez impresses during his loan spell from Barcelona then he could be the man to replace Ramsey.
Gunners Put A Price On Guendouzi
Arsenal have put a £60million price tag on French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.
The 19-year-old only moved from French second division side Lorient last summer in a deal worth £7million. But he was put straight into the first team by Unai Emery and has made 32 appearances for the side in all competitions so far this season.
Paris Saint-Germain are reported to be showing an interest but Arsenal won’t allow Guendouzi to leave for anything less than £60million.
