Havertz In New Arsenal Link
Arsenal are eyeing up a move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz if Mesut Ozil decides to move away from the club.
Ozil is currently being touted around clubs in Europe by third-party agents although his £350,000-a-week wages are a problem for any potential purchasers.
The German has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates and has missed more games than he has played in this season.
Havertz has been on Arsenal’s watch list for some time. Football Gossip reported in April of last year that the Gunners had sent scouts to check up on him.
The 19-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided six assists for Bayer so far this season and Italian website Calciomercato believes the Gunners will make a move for Havertz if and when they can off-load Ozil.
Ospina Napoli Move Turns Sour
Arsenal’s on-loan keeper David Ospina is looking for a move back to South America.
The Colombia international is currently on loan at Napoli where he has played in 10 Serie A games so far this season. But the return to fitness of Alex Meret has seen Ospina relegated to the bench and the prospect of him making any more appearances for the side are slim.
“My current situation is that I have signed up for this season and there is a clause whereby there is an automatic purchase if I play a set number of games,” he told Naples radio station Radio Blu.
It is thought that Ospina hasn’t reached that set number and he faces a return to Arsenal in the summer.
Argentine side Boca Juniors have been linked and Ospina admits he is open to a return to South America.
“I want to continue the opportunity of playing in Europe but a return to South American football is always a possibility,” he added.
“There was a lot of contact with Boca, I am open to return to South America.”
