Felix On United Transfer Radar
Manchester United are lining up a summer bid for Benfica youngster Joao Felix.
The 19-year-old has been watched by scouts from Old Trafford on a number of occasions this season and a ‘source’ at the club has described Felix to The Sun as “a real talent”.
Felix was linked with Liverpool during the January transfer window when the Merseyside club bid £61million. The Reds are likely to rival United for Felix’s signature this summer while Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are among a number of top European clubs said to be interested.
Benfica want Felix to remain with them. They have offered him a new deal with a huge pay rise, but the contract will also include a massive release clause which some outlets are claiming could be as high as £100million.
Felix only made his debut for Benfica this season and he has just eight league starts for the side along with two appearances off the bench so far this season. He also made an appearance in three Champions League matches – one as a starter and two off the bench.
Four Other Transfer Targets
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror claims Manchester United have four main transfer targets this summer.
The paper claims that United want Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly in the centre of defence, Lucas Hernandez of Atletico Madrid at left-back, Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina at right-back and Douglas Costa on the right side of midfield.
Whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is having any input at this stage remains to be seen. Plus United will meet some resistance over at least two of those players. Koulibaly has already had a price tag of over £100million put on him while Atletico have no intention of letting Hernandez go on the cheap.
In short, those four players will cost in excess of £200million.
