Spurs Fear They May Have Missed Out
It looks like being a straight fight between Liverpool and Barcelona for the Paris Saint-Germain forward Adrien Rabiot.
The France international was linked last month with a £20million move to Tottenham Hotspur. However, his father Michel died during the final days of the transfer window and his mother and agent Veronique Rabiot put any talks of a move on hold.
But according to the Daily Star Sunday, Spurs fear that their chance may have gone. Barcelona and Liverpool are also being linked with the Catalan side said to be in the box seat.
Reports earlier this season suggested that Barca would sign two players out of a list containing Paul Pogba and Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong. The young Dutchman was snapped up last month although he has returned to Ajax for the rest of the season. A move for Pogba looks unlikely with Manchester United’s upturn in fortunes. That just leaves Rabiot.
The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and will be available then on a free transfer. He is currently under suspension by PSG after refusing to sign a new contract with the French club. However, he has been included in their squad for the Champions League knockout stages.
