Rashford Set For New Deal
Talks between Manchester United and Marcus Rashford over a new deal for the striker are being described as “advanced”.
The England international is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year contract that could be worth as much as £200,000 a week. The Daily Star claims that bonuses will be on top of that. Other outlets have suggested that the new deal will see Rashford’s wages double from £70,000 a week to £140,000. However, the reality is that nobody knows how much he is likely to earn.
Rashford is one of a number of players given a new lease of life at Old Trafford under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The 21-year-old has scored six goals in the Norwegian’s ten games in charge for his best goalscoring season at the club.
Coutinho Team-Mates Rally Round
Manchester United transfer target Phillippe Coutinho is reported to be sad at Barcelona. However, he has the support of his team-mates at the Nou Camp.
The £105million signing from Liverpool in January of last year has lost his place in the starting line-up at Barcelona and is being tipped to leave the club in the summer. Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be eyeing up a move.
Coutinho scored twice against Sevilla last weekend as he replaced the injured Ousmane Dembele, but he struggled to impose himself in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg tie with Real Madrid this week and looks set to lose his place when Dembele returns.
Coutinho’s team-mates are backing him and hoping coach Ernesto Valverde will give him more game time.
Any move for the Brazilian will cost somewhere in the region of £100million.
