Manchester United In Talks Over Rashford Deal

Rashford Set For Pay Rise

Marcus Rashford Manchester United

Manchester United are in talks with Marcus Rashford over a new deal that could double his wages at Old Trafford.

Rashford’s goal against Leicester City on Sunday means he is now on a run of six goals in ten games for United since Jose Mourinho was sacked and interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer began to play him largely at the expense of Romelu Lukaku. The 21-year-old has scored nine Premier League so far this season – a career best.

Reports surfaced last week that United want Rashford to sign a new deal. Now, the Daily Telegraph claims that talks have already begun about a new long-term contract for the England international.

Rashford is out of contract at the end of next season although United have the option of an additional year.

United announced last Thursday that Anthony Martial has signed a new five-year deal with the club worth around £200,000 a week.

Real Madrid have been linked with Rashford although the chances of United agreeing to let him leave the summer are close to zero.

Pogba Considered United Exit, Claims Brother

Paul Pogba considered leaving Manchester United while Jose Mourinho was manager. That’s according to his brother Matthias Pogba who told French TV programme Telefoot that an exit was a real option for the France international.

Pogba was stripped of the club vice-captaincy under Mourinho and was described as “a virus” by the Portugese coach during one dressing-room outburst.

“Of course. It comes into your mind,” Matthias said. “But today he is where he is. He was under contract so he had to grit his teeth and keep working.”

Pogba has enjoyed an upturn in form since Mourinho’s exit. His haul of nine Premier League goals for the season so far is the best league campaign of his career.
