Napoli Chief Not Interested At That Price
Liverpool have put in a bid of €70million (£61million) for Napoli striker Lorenzo Insigne but reports from Italy suggest the bid has been rejected.
Insigne, 27, has long been a target for Premier League clubs with Arsenal linked in the past. But he has resisted the temptation to leave Napoli, a club he has been with since his transfer from Pescara in 2012.
According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Liverpool’s interest in Insigne has reached the ears of club president Aurelio di Laurentiis. He has told the Merseyside club that he won’t listen to offers of less than €150million (£131.3million) for Insigne who has scored eight goals and provided five assists in 19 Serie A games for Napoli so far this season. That’s a better scoring average than last season when he scored eight in 37 games but almost comparable to the 2016-17 campaign when he hit 18 in 27 appearances.
Liverpool are also being linked with Timo Werner of Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. The 22-year-old has age on his side but he is also just one year from the end of his current deal with the German club.
