Emery Tries To Take Positives
Arsenal manager Unai Emery singled out just two of his players for praise following Sunday’s 3-1 defeat at Manchester City.
Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick as City swept aside the Gunners to maintain their Premier League title challenge.
After the match, Emery admitted that City were the better side although he suggested his team have some way to go before they can challenge for the Premier League title.
“I cannot say a lot about that. They showed their superiority at the end of the match,” he said.
“I’m very happy with Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira’s performances today, but they also need time to improve and to take confidence, to take experience for their future here.
“With the result, it’s not easy to say that, but there are some positives that we can look at from our players today.”
The result sees Arsenal drop down to sixth place in the Premier League table with Manchester United leapfrogging them following a 1-0 win at Leicester City. The Gunners are now three points behind Chelsea who occupy the fourth and final Champions League place.
