Hudson-Odoi Still In Bayern Sights
Chelsea face a renewed battle over the summer over their teenage midfielder Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The Blues saw off three bids from Bayern Munich for the 18-year-old. However, Hudson-Odoi has told Chelsea that he wants to join the Bundesliga giants and he has handed in a transfer request at Stamford Bridge.
Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is expected to renew his efforts in the summer to sign Hudson-Odoi.
“The only one Hasan would have liked to buy was this player from Chelsea,” club president Uli Hoeness said on Friday.
“I have to say that he nearly fell in love with this player and his qualities.”
Willian Wants Longer Deal
Meanwhile, Chelsea winger Willian is frustrated after being offered only a one-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge.
The 30-year-old was linked in the summer with interest from Manchester United although it is thought that the Old Trafford hierarchy scuppered the bid because of the age.
It’s his age that’s behind Chelsea’s decision to offer him just a one-year contract. Club policy dictates that players over 30 are offered one-year deals. Willian wants a contract of three year’s duration.
Willian’s current deal expires at the end of next season. Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are being linked.
