Suarez Agreement In Sight
Arsenal could be close to signing Denis Suarez from Barcelona with reports suggesting a deal is imminent.
The Gunners are being linked with a flurry of transfer activity but as ever with Arsenal it remains to be seen whether or not they can get any deals over the line.
Suarez has been linked all month with a move to Arsenal. However, the Gunners want a loan with an option to purchase in the summer while Barcelona want a guaranteed sale for €20million (£18million) at the end of the season.
It looks as though Arsenal have partially got their way with Suarez arriving on loan with the Gunners given the option to make the deal permanent.
However, reports from Spain claim Barcelona have upped the price to somewhere in the region of €25-30million (£22.5-27million). Arsenal will also pay a loan fee of €2.5million (£2.25million).
Suarez was pulled out of training with Barcelona on Tuesday afternoon and is believed to have said his farewells to his team-mates.
Gueye, Tielemans, Nkunku
Arsenal are also reported to have joined the race for Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye.
The 29-year-old is believed to have handed in a transfer request to Everton as he tries to force through a move to Paris Saint-Germain. The Toffees are denying having received any such request.
Now, Arsenal and Manchester City are being linked with a player valued by Everton at £40million.
Arsenal are also interested in a loan move for Monaco’s Belgium international midfielder Youri Tielemans. It isn’t clear whether or not the Gunners’ interest will be affected by any movement on the Suarez deal.
West Ham United and Newcastle United are also being linked with the 21-year-old.
Interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Christopher Nkunku depends on the French club signing a replacement. Ironically, a successful move for Gueye by PSG will free up an exit for Nkunku.
