Perisic Out Of Torino Game
Arsenal transfer target Ivan Perisic will not feature for Inter Milan in today’s Serie A clash with Torino.
The Croatia international was linked on Saturday with interest from the Gunners who are keen to bring him in on an initial loan.
Perisic had a good World Cup last summer but he has been disappointing for Inter this season and is no longer regarded as un-sellable by the Serie A side.
He was linked in the summer of 2017 with a transfer to Manchester United but that fell through when the Red Devils refused to meet Inter’s £48million valuation. However, he remains keen to move to the Premier League.
Inter coach Luciano Spalletti was asked about Perisic at a pre-match press conference on Saturday.
“If anyone is interested in him they must think about what they want to pay for him because he is a strong player,” he said.
Inter are looking at somewhere in the region of €35-40million (£32-36million) and want a guaranteed permanent transfer in the summer. Arsenal have already seen one target slip away over their refusal to do such a deal. Denis Suarez’s move was scuppered by the Gunners’ insistence on an option to purchase this summer rather than a guaranteed sale. They will try for the same kind of deal for Perisic.
Gunners Open Talks Over Malcom
Arsenal are also being linked with Barcelona winger Malcom with reports today claiming his name has cropped in talks over Denis Suarez.
The Brazilian has failed to impress at Barca since his arrival last summer from French side Bordeaux.
The Gunners kept tabs on Malcom for much of last season only for their interest to end when the price tag headed past the £30million mark.
However, there is the issue of a work permit. The 21-year-old has yet to make his senior international debut for Brazil and the lack of any full caps was a factor in Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur ending their interest last summer
