Arsenal are one of three clubs interested in Villareal midfielder Pablo Fornals.

The 22-year-old has a release clause of €30million in his contract with the La Liga side and according to reports from Spain he is “on the agenda” of both the Gunners and West Ham United.

Given that Arsenal are only looking for loan deals this month they are unlikely to make a move in the January transfer window. West Ham United will also only make a move if they can move on one of their big names. Marko Arnautovic’s move to China collapsed earlier this month which would have financed any bid this month for Fornals by the Hammers.

But the Premier League duo face competition for Fornals’ signature from Serie A side Napoli. Coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted this week that he is keeping tabs on the Spaniard.

“This club is very attentive to the international market,” he said following this week’s league game with AC Milan. “Fornals is a player that we are following, but he is not the only one and is one of a number of footballers that we are following.”

Villareal are in the market for a midfielder and central defender and any sale of Fornals this month would finance both deals.

Gunners Linked With PSG Midfielder

Arsenal are also being linked with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Chrisopher Nkunku. The 21-year-old made 20 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG last season when Gunners boss Unai Emery was in charge at the French side. However, only six of those came as a starter. He has been equally unused this season with five starts and eight appearances off the bench under Thomas Tuchel.

Talks remain active over Barcelona forward Denis Suarez although Arsenal want a loan deal with an option to purchase in the summer while the La Liga leaders are demanding either an £18million transfer now or a guaranteed permanent deal in the summer.
