Defender Rejects United – For Now
Manchester United transfer target Milan Skriniar says he isn’t interested in a move away from Inter Milan.
The 23-year-old was first linked with United last summer when reports from Italy claimed the Red Devils had a bid of £57million rejected by Inter. Scouts from Old Trafford have watched him in action on a number of occasions this campaign, but speaking to Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport, Skriniar ruled out an exit from the San Siro.
“I’m staying,” Skriniar said in what was merely a confirmation of what everybody already knew.
Whether he will change his mind in the summer remains to be seen. United are hoping to bolster their defensive options in the summer. But they will face competition for Skriniar’s signature. Barcelona and Manchester City are also interested in the Slovakia international and could make bids of their own.
United Target Set For Milan
Manchester United have also been keeping tabs on young Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Djalo.
According to reports from Italy, the 18-year-old looks set to snub interest from United and local rivals Manchester City to join AC Milan at the end of the season.
Djalo is out of contract this summer and is currently free to speak to foreign clubs about a pre-contract agreement.
