Manchester United still harbour hopes of signing defender Eder Militao after his agent insisted he wouldn’t be leaving FC Porto in the January transfer window. More details here.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery insists the club is working to bring in at least one new player before the transfer deadline at the end of this month. Denis Suarez of Barcelona is the player most likely to move. However, a move is unlikely to happen for Sevilla forward Ever Banega. The Brazilian is being linked with a move away from the Nou Camp this summer as Barca eye up a return for Neymar. Gonzalo Higuain’s move to Stamford Bridge will earn the Argentine around £270,000 a week. Real Madrid are hoping to sign Eden Hazard for less than Chelsea’s asking price of €100m (£88m).

Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande have pulled out of a move for West Ham United striker Marko Arnautovic.
