Spalletti Rules Out Exit
Manchester United’s hopes of signing Inter Milan central defender Milan Skriniar have taken a blow with the news that coach Luciano Spalletti has ruled out any exit.
Skriniar was put on United’s target list by Jose Mourinho as he sought to shore up his side’s defence. He has been watched by United scouts on numerous occasions.
However, reports from Italy claim that Skriniar has already opened talks about a new deal at the San Siro and Spalletti was asked about the prospect of a transfer following the side’s 6-2 victory over Benevento in the Coppa Italia at the weekend.
“Skriniar is staying here, he is out of everybody’s price range. Nobody can afford him,” Spalletti said.
United were rumoured to have bid £57million last summer for the Slovakia international – a bid that was turned down by Inter. Their interest in the defender was first noted in March of last year.
