Arsenal In Rodriguez Bid
Reports from Germany claim that Arsenal have had a bid accepted for the Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich.
The Colombia international is in the second season of a two-year loan spell at the Allianz Arena. He started in 19 of Bayern’s 34 Bundesliga games last season and came on as a substitute in four more. However, he has fallen down the pecking order this season with just five league starts and he was substituted in all bar one of those.
Bayern have an option to purchase Rodriguez but look set to pass up that option. Real Madrid don’t want him back at the Bernabeu and rumours of a £37million move to Juventus look set to come to nothing.
Suarez Bid May Fail
Meanwhile, Arsenal could draw a blank in their pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez. The Gunners were linked over the weekend with a £20million bid for the former Manchester City academy starlet. But reports from Spain claim that Barca are ready to play hardball.
Arsenal are keen to do a loan deal with an option to purchase in the summer, but Barcelona are adamant that they don’t want to lose him just yet.
No New Under Bid
Arsenal could also miss out on Roma winger Cengiz Under. The Turkey international is reported to have been the subject of a £35million bid from the Gunners. Roma’s valuation stands at £45million. However, the Gunners aren’t prepared to go any higher.
