Former Atletico Man Currently In China
Manchester United are being linked with a move for the Belgium international forward Yannick Carrasco.
The 25-year-old left Atletico Madrid for Chinese side Dalian Yifang in a curious move in February of last year in a deal worth just over £25million.
But Carrasco is now anxious to return to Europe. Foot Mercato claims he could be a target for Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seeks to boost his squad. Some reports claim the Norwegian has been given £50million to spend this month. Others suggest that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has told Solskjaer that he wants to keep his transfer kitty for whoever takes over on a permanent basis in the summer. Solskjaer would only be able to sign new players on loan.
There is the possibility that United could agree a loan for Carrasco for the rest of the season with an option to buy in the summer.
However, Carrasco went to China for the money on offer. He currently earns around £170,000 a week with Dalian Yifang and would want something similar at Old Trafford. On the other hand, he is desperate to get back to Europe.
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has blocked a loan move away from Manchester United for teenage midfielder Angel Gomes.
The 18-year-old has been tipped to make a temporary exit from Old Trafford. However, Solskjaer wants to introduce some of the club’s youngsters into the side in the coming week. Gomes made his second Premier League appearance for United when he came on as a substitute in the recent win over Huddersfield Town.
One player who could be on his way out is Andreas Pereira. The Belgian is being linked with interest from both Arsenal and Valencia.
