Ramsey ‘Agrees Juventus Deal’
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey looks set to join Juventus. Reports from Italy claim he has agreed a pre-contract agreement with the Serie A giants although some outlets claim he could even move to the Turin side this month.
According to Sport Mediaset, Ramsey will sign a five-year deal worth €6.5million a year. At current exchange that equates to around £110,000 a week. But Italian footballers’ wages are normally quoted after tax. The equivalent before tax would be around £200,000 a week. That’s the sort of figure Ramsey was looking to earn if he stayed at Arsenal. Mesut Ozil earns £350,000 a week while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is on £300,000 a week. But the Gunners withdrew their offer to him in September.
Another Italian outlet, Calciomercato reports that if Ramsey signs a pre-contract agreement then Juve will try to bring him in this month. Arsenal boss Unai Emery has publicly ruled out a move away from the club in this transfer window but Calciomercato claims Juventus could offer a loan swap with Ramsey moving to Italy and Sami Khedira joining the Gunners for the rest of the season.
Navas Signs New Deal
Reports on Thursday claimed Arsenal have offered £14million to Real Madrid for goalkeeper Keylor Navas. However, that avenue appears to have been closed off.
Navas has signed a one-year contract extension with Real that could keep him at the club until 2021.
Ozil Future To Decided In The Summer
Mesut Ozil’s future at Arsenal will be decided at the end of the season according to reports. The midfielder’s agent said earlier this week that the German is looking to see out his current deal with the Gunners.
The Evening Standard now claims the club are also distancing themselves from reports of a January exit.
Ozil has fallen down the Arsenal pecking order in recent weeks.
