Neither Juve Or Costa Are Interested In An Exit
Manchester United transfer target Douglas Costa won’t be sold by Juventus in the January transfer window.
The Brazilian is reported to have been the subject of a €60million (£54million) bid from United that has been rejected by the Serie A leaders.
Costa only moved to Juventus from Bayern Munich on a permanent basis last summer. The Italian side paid €40million for the winger having had him on loan during the 2017-18 campaign for a loan fee of €8million.
Costa has fallen down the pecking order at Juventus. Eighteen Serie A starts and 13 appearances off the bench last season have been followed this campaign by just four starts and nine substitute appearances.
But two pieces have emerged from Italy. First of all, sporting director Fabio Paratici won’t sanction an exit for Costa. He is still seen as a vital member of the Juventus squad especially with the club still in the Champions League.
However, Costa has told his agent that he doesn’t want to leave Turin. It remains to be seen whether that will also rule out an exit in the summer.
As well as Manchester United, local rivals Manchester City are also keeping tabs on Costa’s situation.
