Defender May Have No Future With Hammers
Arsenal are considering a bid for West Ham United defender Reece Oxford. The 20-year-old is being linked with an exit from the London Stadium after being warned by manager Manuel Pellegrini that he may not have a future at the club.
Arsenal were linked with Oxford during Arsene Wenger’s reign as manager at the club. But the Hammers dug deep and insisted the youngster was going nowhere.
Arsenal and Everton are both interested in a player who made his first-team debut for the Hammers at the age of 16.
However, Oxford has failed to nail down a place in the West Ham side. He made seven Premier League appearances during the 2015-16 campaign but since then he has managed a solitary four-minute substitute appearance in the Hammers’ 1-1 home draw with Crystal Palace in January of this year.
Oxford spent last season on loan at Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach making five league appearances for the German club.
