Valencia Set For Manchester United Exit?

Full-Back In From The Cold

Manchester United full-back Antonio Valencia is open to an exit from the club at the end of the season.

The Ecuador international was criticised by manager Jose Mourinho in the summer after the United boss accused him of returning over-weight to pre-season training.

According to the Daily Mail, Valencia could leave Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old claimed last month that he had been dropped by Mourinho. That followed him ‘liking’ a post on Instragram calling for the United boss to be sacked. He was frozen out for almost two months until he apologised in public and in private to the Manchester United boss.

He returned for the Champions League matches against Young Boys and Valencia but his last appearance in the Premier League was in the 1-1 draw at home to Wolves on 22 September.

Valencia has yet to be offered a new deal by United. Players of his age are usually offered only one year deals by United. But a lack of playing time suggests he could be on his way out in the summer.

West Ham United are said to be interested along with clubs in Spain.
