But Reds Reject Move
Liverpool have rejected a loan move to Galatasaray for striker Divock Origi because they want him to play at a club nearer to England.
Belgium international Origi has broken back in to the Liverpool side with three appearances so far this season. After failing to play a single minute for the side he came on as a substitute in the 2-0 Champions League defeat to Red Star Belgrade last month and he got on the scoresheet with a dramatic injury-time winner in the recent Merseyside derby victory over Everton.
Galatasaray were linked with Origi in the summer as they searched for a replacement for Bafetimbi Gomis who left at the end of last season for a side in the Middle East. But at that stage Liverpool were looking for a permanent deal with a transfer fee of €30million (£27million). That was off the cards for the Turkish club who are being monitored by Uefa over Financial Fair Play.
Liverpool aren’t keen on a loan move to a club so far away claim reports. But Galatasaray could be back in for Origi towards the end of the transfer window if he hasn’t found a club by then.
