‘Ballon D’Or Doesn’t Interest Me’
Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard insists he has yet to make any decision on his future.
The Belgium international is out of contract at the end of next season and is expected to decide by the end of the season whether or not he will accept the offer from Chelsea of a new contract.
But Real Madrid are hovering in the background and recent reports claim they have already agreed personal terms.
In an interview on the Team Duga programme on French radio station RMC on Monday, Hazard was coy about answering any question as to where he is likely to be playing his football next season.
“The new coach [Sarri] thinks football like me, so we’ll see, the family is in London, I’m also going to be 28,” he said.
“I do not want to have any regrets at the end of my it’s a decision I’m going to make, I do not know when, but I’ll take it.”
Hazard also dismissed the prospect of winning the Ballon D’Or. He finished eighth in this year’s competition but insists it’s a team game.
“If I have it then it’s a plus,” he said. “But I’m not thinking ‘I need the Ballon d’Or’. I think others are better than me as an individual. I have always thought of myself as a team player rather than an individual so it does not matter to me. ”
