Belgian Hedges His Bets
Chelsea forward Eden Hazard admits he could leave Stamford Bridge this summer. However, he has already ruled out a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Belgium international was strongly linked last summer with Real Madrid although he admitted earlier this season that Chelsea had told him there was no chance of him moving.
PSG’s were reported for some years to be showing an interest in Hazard and he revealed that although they were interested he hadn’t reciprocated.
“There have been contacts in the past with PSG,'” Hazard told Canal+. “But I haven’t been tempted. If I have to go back to France one day, it would be at Lille.
“But at the moment there is no chance that I’ll come back to the French league.”
The 27-year-old moved to Chelsea from Lille in a £32million transfer in the summer of 2012. He has a contract that runs to 2020 and admits that a summer move could be on the cards.
“For now, like I said, I’m staying at Chelsea,” he added. “I have one year left on my contract after this year. Moving this winter is impossible. I can’t leave in January because of the club and the supporters.
“It will be possible in the summer, but t’s also possible that I stay my whole career at Chelsea.”
