Arsenal Set To Miss Out On Dembele

Barcelona Winger Set For PSG Switch?

Ousmane Dembele Arsenal

Arsenal transfer target Ousmane Dembele has asked Barcelona for a move away from the club.

The France international has struggled to settle in at the Nou Camp following his €105million (£93million) transfer from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017. The move itself was controversial after Dembele refused to turn up for pre-season training until the Bundesliga side sanctioned his exit.

But Dembele has struggled to adapt to life in Spain. A hamstring injury sustained in the opening weeks of last season saw him sidelined for four months. He has since forced his way back in to the side but only seven of his 12 La Liga appearances this season have come as a member of the starting eleven.

Goal claims Dembele has asked to be sold in January and that Barcelona are already in talks with Paris Saint-Germain. Any deal would see the 21-year-old move to PSG as part of Neymar’s transfer back to Barcelona. The Brazilian – who is also being linked with a move to Real Madrid – is keen to return to the Nou Camp.

Dembele has been linked with Arsenal largely through his friendship with Gunners striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

But Barca will demand at least £100million in cash. That’s out of Arsenal’s reach at present. Plus the club’s director of football Raul Sanllehi has ruled out any new signings in January.
