Relationship On The Mend Claims Raiola
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has patched up his differences with manager Jose Mourinho. That’s according to the Frenchman’s agent Mino Raiola.
Pogba and Mourinho’s relationship appeared to on a downward curve after he was asked to play in a deeper-lying role following Alexis Sanchez’s arrival at Old Trafford at the end of January. It then looked to be in freefall after an Instagram posting appeared to show Pogba laughing during United’s Carabao Cup defeat by Derby County. That earned him a training-ground rebuke that was captured by TV cameras.
But Pogba faced the press before the Red Devils’ Champions League victory before Juventus this week and that suggested to some United-watchers that the situation between the pair has gone some way to being resolved.
Raiola was asked by Italian TV network RAI about the situation between Pogba and Mourinho and he suggested that the two men have patched things up.
“Pogba has mended his relationship with Mourinho,” Raiola replied. “He is more calm because he feels important in Manchester, even though Turin has remained in his heart.”
On a different matter entirely, Raiola appeared not to rule out a return to AC Milan for the former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The 37-year-old has just ended his first season with LA Galaxy and had been linked with a loan move either to United or Milan.
Ibrahimovic appeared to rule out a return when asked about the prospect earlier this week. But Raiola suggested a return to Milan could be on the cards.
“The future? I confirm what has already been said, the relations with the new Milan management are excellent, so all the roads are open “.
