Frenchman Blasts Reports
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out a move to Serie A side AC Milan.
Reports from France claimed on Monday that Milan’s American owners were ready to sack current boss Gennaro Gattuso and put Wenger in charge.
But speaking to the Qatar-owned TV network BeIn Sports where he works as a summariser, Wenger described the report as “fake news”. It was the only comment he made on the matter.
The 69-year-old has been out of football management since his tenure as Arsenal boss came to an end in May.
Milan are currently in fourth place in Serie A and are looking to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since the 2013-14 campaign. But the club’s hierarchy were said to be concerned about the 11-point gap that has opened up between them and league leaders Juventus.
Gattuso was appointed Milan head coach in November of last year following the sacking of Vincenzo Montella.
