January Bid For England Striker?
Crystal Palace could make a January bid for Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck.
The former Manchester United striker is currently back-up to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette and has made just one Premier League start for the Gunners so far this season. He has scored one league goal for the side along with a total of four in five games for the side in the Carabao Cup and Europa League.
According to The Sun, Palace boss Roy Hodgson believes Welbeck could be the answer to the Eagles’ goalscoring problems and could be ready with a £10million bid in the January transfer window. Palace have managed just eight goals in their 11 league games so far this season.
Welbeck is out of contract at the end of the season and has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Arsenal could be ready to listen to any offers in January rather than allow the England international to leave for nothing at the end of the season.
Hodgson knows Welbeck from his time as manager of England. He gave the striker 25 of his 42 international caps.
