Manchester United forward Anthony Martial wants to sign a new contract at Old Trafford.

The France international is out of contract at the end of the season although the club has an option to extend his present deal to the end of June 2020.

French radio station RMC claims Martial and his representatives are ready to sit down with United officials and discuss a new deal. It adds that his relationship with Jose Mourinho has improved in recent weeks and he is now ready to commit to a new long-term contract. This deal could see Martial earn as much as £175.000 a week.

However, the same outlet reported only last week that Martial has rejected a number of offers from the club and is ready to quit Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old has played in six Premier League games for Manchester United so far this season – four starts and two appearances off the bench. The two goals he scored against Chelsea on Saturday brings his total to three for the season at an average of one for every 117 minutes on the pitch. He scored nine league goals in 30 appearances last season.
