England Scouts Monitoring Nelson
Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson could be in line for an England call-up after impressing during a loan spell in Germany.
The 18-year-old forward is currently on a season-long loan spell at Bundesiga side Hoffenhehim where has played in four league games – two starts and two substitute appearances – scoring four goals. He found the net twice in Saturday’s 3-1 victory at Nuremburgh. That has brought his total to five in his last four games in all competitions after scoring two goals for England’s Under-21 side in their victories over Andorra and Scotland during the recent international break.
Gareth Southgate has turned to youth with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho called up for the recent full internationals against Croatia and Spain and speculation suggests Nelson could be next in line if he keeps up his recent run of form. Southgate’s scouts are reported to be keeping tabs on Nelson.
The teenager was sent out on loan to Hoffenheim to gain first-team experience after making three Premier League appearances for the Gunners last season.
