Reds Interest Put On Hold With Injury
Liverpool are interested in Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay and have maintained contact with representatives of the 25-year-old.
The Reds were linked earlier this year with Demirbay but he picked up an injury that saw him the back end of last season and that ended the Reds’ interest at that time.
The Turkish Football website claims that Liverpool are still interested. The site has been told by someone close to the player that the Reds are still in talks with his representatives, Arena 11, who also act as agents for Liverpool stars Naby Keita and Sadio Mane.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp knows Demirbay well from their time together at Borussia Dortmund. The midfielder moved to Hamburg in 2013 but he left Hamburg to join Hoffenheim in the summer of 2016 for a fee of less than £1.5million. He soon became a first-team regular at Hoffenheim and has recently regained his place in the side after suffering a season-ending injury in April.
Demirbay made his international debut for Germany at the 2017 Fifa Confederations Cup in Russia getting on the scoresheet in the victory over Cameroon.
Arsenal have also been linked.
