Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba wants a return to Juventus at the end of the season. That’s according to press reports in Italy this morning.
The France international left Juve for a return to Old Trafford in 2016 four years after he left United for the Serie A side.
But according to the print edition of Tuttosport today, Pogba would prefer a move back to Juve where he won the Serie A title in each of his four years at the club.
Pogba criticised Jose Mourinho’s tactics on Saturday after United were held to a 1-1 draw at home by newly-promoted Wolves. The result means United are already eight points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Juventus are also being linked with United full-back Matteo Darmian. The 28-year-old’s only appearance so far this season came in the opening weekend victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford. Darmian hasn’t been used since and has been named among the substitutes only once – against Watford earlier this month. However, he is expected to be part of the United side to take on Championship outfit Derby County in the Carabao Cup this evening.
Darmian was linked with a number of Italian clubs, including Juventus, over the summer. But a lack of game time so far this season points to a January departure. By that stage he will only be six months away from the end of his contract with United and he could be on his way out of Old Trafford for a knock-down fee. United were demanding £20million for him during the summer.
