Arsenal Chief Gazidis ‘To Leave In December’

CEO Set For AC Milan Claims Report

Ivan Gazidis Arsenal

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis is set to leave the club in December to join AC Milan according to reports from Italy today.

Gazidis, who has been with the Gunners since 2008, has been linked with a move to the Serie A club following their takeover by an American company earlier this year. Rumours over the summer led to Arsenal releasing an official statement denying that the South African-born lawyer would be leaving the club. However, the print version of Italian newspaper La Repubblica on Monday states that an agreement has been struck between the Serie A club and the 54-year-old and that he will move to Italy during the final month of this year.

It was reported last week that Gazidis’s salary was a sticking point for the Italians. He currently earns around £2.6million a year (the equivalent of £50,000 a week) at the Emirates.

Milan saw a two-year ban from European competition overturned by the Court Of Arbitration For Sport in July. That was after they had fallen foul of Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations. They travel to Luxembourg side F91 Dudelange in their opening group match on Thursday.
