Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has ‘lost patience’ with Anthony Martial and wants to sell the France international to another Premier League club.

That’s according to the Evening Standard which claims that Mourinho sees a bright future for Martial’s team-mate Marcus Rashford but sees only an Old Trafford exit for Martial.

The report goes against the stories that have been coming out of Old Trafford in recent weeks. Martial was said at the end of August to be one of four ‘untouchables’ – players that the United hierarchy will not consider selling. Rashford, Luke Shaw and Jesse Lingard are the others. It has also been reported that, rather than being considered for a sale by Mourinho, Martial is currently in talks with United over a new deal.

United have refused to consider the sale of Martial to another Premier League club. Juventus and PSG have both been linked. But the Standard believes he could now be sold to one of United’s rivals. Tottenham Hotspur are interested.

Boateng Gives Reasons For Rejecting Manchester United

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng rejected a move to Manchester United this summer after he was given a vote of confidence by new coach Niko Kovac.

Boateng was a target for United as Jose Mourinho sought to boost his defence. But he revealed what he told Jose Mourinho after he heard of United’s interest.

“I had enquiries from Paris-Saint Germain and Manchester United and I considered them,” said Boateng. “Not because I wanted to leave Bayern Munich, by all means. It was no escape, but rather the thrill of a new challenge. I feel completely contented at Bayern – one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“I phoned Jose Mourinho and told him that his interest honoured me and thanked him. I explained to him my reasons for not joining. It’s difficult to leave FC Bayern. Everything has to fall in place to top this club, if I do it.

“Niko Kovac gave me the feeling that I’m very important for him and the club.”
