Elneny Set For Arsenal Exit
Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny could be on his way out of the club.
Egypt international Elneny only signed a four-year contract with Arsenal in March as his previous deal expired in 2020. But French side Marseille are interested in Elneny as a replacement for Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa who left for Fulham last Thursday in a €30million (£27million) transfer.
The 26-year-old Elneny moved to Arsenal from Swiss side Basel for £6million in January 2015. But he has failed to nail down a regular first-team spot during his three-and-a-half years at the Emirates. His 13 Premier League appearances last season amounted to 870 minutes of game time – the most since he arrived at the club but fewer than half the minutes available.
Rabiot Back On Arsenal Radar
Arsenal are once again being linked with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot after he rejected a new contract with the French champions.
As Football Gossip reported yesterday some of Europe’s top clubs are eyeing up a move for the 23-year-old after PSG coach Thomas Tuchel admitted he could leave.
Some outlets are claiming that Arsenal could still make a move for Rabiot, but the Premier League transfer window has closed and with his contract set to expire next summer he is more likely to move to another European club this month.
AC Milan, Juventus and Barcelona are all being linked with Rabiot, but he was an Arsenal transfer target during the Arsene Wenger era and he spent two years working with Gunners boss Unai Emery when he was in charge at PSG.
N’Zonzi Roma Move Imminent
Another Arsenal transfer target looks set to seal a move elsewhere. Steven N’Zonzi is on the verge of a move to Serie A side Roma with Sevilla about to shake hands on a €30million (£26.8million) transfer.
N’Zonzi was linked with interest from the Gunners as Unai Emery sought to link up again with a player he worked with at Sevilla. However, Sevilla’s sporting director during the Emery era, Monchi, has snatched the France international for the Serie A side.
