Chelsea face competition from AC Milan over the Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The Blues were linked earlier this month with the Argentina international. It was even claimed that he had agreed to a move to Stamford Bridge although he was demanding in excess of £210,000 a week.

But Sky Italia claims that Milan’s newly-appointed sporting director Leonardo has been in contact with Beppe Marotta, his counterpart at Juventus, over the prospect of a move.

Chelsea remain interested in a player who would cost around £50million. Juve are looking to recoup some of the £105million they have spent on Cristiano Ronaldo.
