Lyon Man Still Linked
Liverpool have no plans to revive their interest in Lyon winger Nabil Fekir. That’s despite reports suggesting he may yet make a move to Anfield.
The Reds saw a €60million (£53million) transfer collapse last month over fears that an old cruciate knee ligament injury could flare up again. Liverpool tried to get Lyon to reduce the transfer fee by €5million – a move that led to the deal being pulled.
Reports from France over the weekend have suggested that Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas would be open to renewed interest from Liverpool. However, sources on Merseyside say that option isn’t open at present.
Fekir left Moscow for the return to France earlier today. A supporter at Moscow’s airport shouted “Liverpool!” at the Lyon man. He smiled back in a move that some outlets are suggesting could mean a move to Merseyside could be back on.
That doesn’t appear to be the case.
