Saturday’s Transfer Rumours
Chelsea have appointed Maurizio Sarri as their new manager. The Blues and Real Madrid have had talks over the transfer of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. More details here.
Chelsea are hoping to seal the transfer of Napoli midfielder Jorginho. The Blues have been Barcelona midfielder as part of a cash-plus-player bid for Ngolo Kante. There are also reports of talks between Chelsea and Juventus over a move for the Serie A side’s Argentina international forward Gonzalo Higuain. Reports are also suggesting that Alvaro Morata could move in the opposite direction. However, that looks unlikely following Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus.
Manchester United have made a fresh attempt to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic. The Red Devils failed last year with a £40m bid. Inter are keen to sign United left-back Matteo Darmian on a season-long loan deal. More on those stories here.
Liverpool have signed Switzerland international midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City in a deal worth just over £13m.
Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have missed out on the Bordeaux winger Malcom. The Brazilian looks set to move to Inter Milan initially on a season-long loan. Premier League interest does not appear to have led to any concrete bid.
Leicester City will offer central defender Harry Maguire a new deal that will see his wages rise from £45,000 to £75,000 a week. The Foxes are also likely to offer a new deal to Wilfred Ndidi.
Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson looks set to move to West Ham United in a deal worth £47million.
Newcastle United are looking to sign Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend, but only if Matt Ritchie moves to Stoke City.
Watford have not rejected a bid of £25m from Everton for Abdoulaye Doucoure. The story has been put about by an agent not involved with the player or either club.
Brighton and Fulham are both interested in Lille’s 21-year-old midfielder Yves Bissouma.
