Manchester United Transfer News: Darmian, Rebic

Darmian In Juventus Talks

Matteo Darmian Manchester United transfer news

The agent of Manchester United right-back Matteo Darmian is in talks with Juventus over a possible move.

Darmian has been told he can leave Old Trafford this summer with United demanding a transfer fee of €20million (just over £17million). Juve are only willing to go as high as €12-13million (£10.6-11.5million) with around £1million in add-ons and bonuses.

A meeting was held on Wednesday at a hotel in the centre of Turin between Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici and Tullo Tinti, one of Darmian’s representatives. The aim of the meeting was to try and thrash out personal terms.

Juventus will try and screw down United for every last penny. The Serie A title winners are paying out £100million for Cristiano Ronaldo and Uefa’s Financial Fair Play rules will impact on any further signings.

United One Of Five Clubs Keen On Rebic

Manchester United have been given the green light to put in a bid for Eintracht Frankfurt winger Ante Rebic.

The Croatia World Cup star – part of the side that defeated England in the World Cup semi-final on Wednesday night – has been the subject of interest from Old Trafford in recent weeks. That’s if some reports are to be believed.

But the Bundesliga side’s sporting director Fredi Bobic admits he is open to any suitable offers.

“So far, there are no offers available and we’re planning a steady season with Ante Rebic for the new season,” he said.

“Of course we know that a lot can happen when a big club makes an offer.

“We cannot compete economically with the big ones, but that’s nothing new.”

German newspaper Bild claims that five clubs are interested in Rebic: United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Napoli and Bayern Munich. However, it adds that Eintracht value the 24-year-old at €50million (£44million).

Rebic’s contract expires in 2021.
