Pavon Release Clause To Increase
Argentine side Boca Juniors have offered a new contract to Arsenal transfer target Cristian Pavon.
The 22-year-old winger was first linked with Arsenal in January when the Gunners were said to be lining up a bid for him to replace Alexis Sanchez. Boca dug in their heels and refused to entertain any bids.
But Arsenal have been linked again in recent weeks after Pavon was one of the few Argentina players to emerge from the World Cup with any credit.
Barcelona have also been tracking Pavon. But reports are now suggesting that Boca are willing to award him a new deal. The problem for any interested party is that his release clause will increase from €35million (£31million) to €42.5million (£37.6million).
Lionel Messi is known to be an admirer and it is that admiration that is fuelling rumours of Barcelona’s interest.
For their part, even Pavon’s old release fee has led to a cooling in Arsenal interest. A move to the Emirates now looks unlikely.
Adli Decided On PSG Stay
Arsenal transfer target Yacine Adli has decided to remain with Paris Saint-Germain. The 17-year-old looked set to follow former PSG coach Unai Emery to the Emirates only to decide instead to remain with the Ligue 1 side.
But speaking to Get French Football News, RMC journalist Loic Tanzli insisted that there no agreement in place with the Gunners.
“A few clubs had been interested in him, notably Arsenal. It depends on the source – some of them were saying that he’d agreed to sign but then turned around and decided to stay at PSG, but those closer to him said that it wasn’t a U-turn and that he hadn’t agreed anything with Arsenal. He simply had the two options on the table but decided to stay at PSG.”
Adli’s snub led the Gunners to step up their efforts to sign another French teenager, Matteo Guendouzi. The 19-year-old moved on Wednesday from Lorient in a £7million transfer.
