But Reds Are Making A Move For Shaqiri
Liverpool are unlikely to make any bid for Juventus forward Paulo Dybala.
Reports from Dybala’s native Argentina claimed on Tuesday that the Reds would bid £80million for the 24-year-old who managed just 22 minutes of game time for his country during the World Cup. That’s despite him scoring 26 goals for Juventus last season.
Dybala is being linked with a move away from Juventus following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal international is expected to complete a £100million switch from Real Madrid in a deal that could be announced as early as today.
But reports in Italy are denying that Juventus will sanction any move away from the club for Dybala. The Argentina international is still very much part of Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri plans for the coming season. Reports on Merseyside are also playing down the link with Liverpool stating that Dybala is not on Jurgen Klopp’s list of transfer targets.
Croatia international Mario Mandzukic could well be the player sacrificed for Ronaldo although there are reports suggesting that Gonzalo Higuain is a target for Chelsea and could be sold.
One player Liverpool are making a move for is Stoke City midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri. The Switzerland international has a £13million release clause in his contract with the Potters that kicked in when the side were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season. Talks have already begun between the Reds and Stoke over a possible transfer.
