Arsenal Keeper Ospina Linked With Boca Switch

But Agent Reveals He Wants Europe Move

David Ospina Arsenal news

Arsenal are ready to sell goalkeeper David Ospina to Argentine side Boca Juniors following the arrival of Bernd Leno.

Colombia international Ospina impressed for his side at the World Cup in Russia as they got out of the group stage and were eliminated by England in the round of 16.

But Arsenal bought Leno last month for a fee of £22million and the Germany international looks set to challenge Petr Cech for the number one jersey at the Emirates. That leaves Ospina as the odd man out and he now looks set to leave the club.

Boca Juniors are known to be interested and Arsenal will demand £6million for Ospina.

“David has had an excellent World Cup and it is very important for him, to keep up that form. It is not a lie for anyone to say that he finds himself uncomfortable in Arsenal,” his agent Lucas Jaramillo said. However, he added that Ospina would prefer to remain in Europe.

“We had already considered the Boca option but it is not easy right now economically for a club like Boca to pay that much for a goalkeeper..

“He would like to come to Boca but it is not the time, we are focused on staying in Europe because he is relatively young.”

He went on: “David has two more years left on his contract at Arsenal, he will have to go back now, there is a new coach, a new goalkeeper who has the coach’s confidence so this might be the end of the line.

“But if there are no options in Europe Boca is a great choice because they are one of the 10 biggest teams in the world.”
