Manchester United Meet Lazio Over Milinkovic-Savic

United In Talks Over Midfielder

Sergey Milinkovic-Savic Manchester United transfer news

Manchester United officials have met with Lazio over the transfer of the Serie A club’s midfielder Sergey Milinkovic-Savic.

The 22-year-old Serbia international was watched by United scouts on a number of occasions last season and is regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in Serie A.

Italian newspaper Il Messaggero reports that officials from the two clubs met in Rome last Friday. However, Lazio have also met with representatives from Real Madrid over a possible move to the La Liga side.

Milinkovic-Savic was strongly linked with Juventus up to last week. But the Serie A champions’ move for Cristiano Ronaldo has effectively ended their interest in the Serb.

Lazio value Milinkovic-Savic at €150million (£130million). That’s a price Manchester United aren’t willing to pay, But Real Madrid expect to be flush with around €100million (£88million) from the sale of Ronaldo and could put in a bid somewhere close to the asking price.

Tierney Move Next Summer?

Manchester United could wait until next summer before making a move for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.

The Scotland international has been linked in recent days with interest from Everton. However, the Toffees have pulled out of any deal after refusing to meet Celtic’s £25million asking price.

Now, the Manchester Evening News claims that Jose Mourinho could make a move on behalf of Manchester United but that any move will not take place until next summer.

A similar story was doing the rounds a year ago when it was claimed Mourinho wouldn’t make a move until this summer. Instead, the United boss signed Porto left-back Diogo Dalot last month for a fee of around £22million.

Tierney has captained both his club and country and has been linked with interest from Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal. But the 21-year-old has consistently refused to talk up the prospects of a move away from Parkhead despite him increasingly being linked with other clubs.
