Kluivert Snubs Premier League For Serie A
Former Manchester United transfer target Justin Kluivert has ended speculation about his future by signing for Serie A side Roma according to reports from Italy. That’s despite a last-ditch attempt by his father Patrick Kluivert to get him to stay with Ajax.
The 19-year-old forward was linked last summer with interest from Old Trafford. He was spotted talking to Manchester United manager following the 2017 Europa League Final in which United defeated Ajax.
But Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed on Tuesday morning that Kluivert has decided instead to move to Roma in a deal that will cost the Italian club €18million (£15million). The player is currently in Rome for a medical ahead of official confirmation.
The news will disappoint United and their Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur both of whom have been linked with the Netherlands.
The teenager scored ten goals and provided five assists last season for Ajax.
