Fekir Talks To Be Concluded Today
Liverpool are set to complete the £53million signing of Lyon winger Nabil Fekir. Talks will take place later today over a move that will cost the Merseyside club an initial €55million (£48.4million) with a further €5million (£4.4million) in add-ons and bonuses.
Fekir, 24, has scored 57 goals and provided 37 assists for Lyon since making his first-team debut for the Ligue 1 side in 2013. He scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in the season just ended.
Fekir is due to play for France against the USA on Saturday in what will be Les Bleus’ final warm-up game ahead of the World Cup finals. The 23-man squad fly out to Russia after the game.
The France international looks set to become Liverpool’s third signing of the summer as they look to put up a stiff challenge for the Premier League title next season. Naby Keita arrives from RB Leipzig on 1 July in a deal that was agreed last summer. The Gabon international will cost £52.8million. Liverpool have also signed Brazil international midfielder Fabinho from Monaco for £39million.
Leno In Liverpool Link
Liverpool are also interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno. The Germany international looks set to quit Bayer this summer and Bild newspaper claims he could leave for a fee of €25million (£22million).
Leno has already rejected an offer from Serie A side Napoli. But he has also been linked with Arsenal. Like Liverpool the Gunners are expected to be in the market for a new keeper this summer.
Liverpool have also been linked with Roma keeper Alisson and Barcelona stopper Jasper Cillessen. The Reds are expected to sell one of either Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius but will wait until a replacement has been found.
