Milan Keeper Still Being Linked With Exit
Liverpool are becoming the likeliest destination for AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma according to reports today.
The teenage keeper has been linked with a move away from the San Siro. But after Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid were both linked with Donnarumma both clubs’ interest in reported to have cooled.
Donnarumma’s agent Mino Raiola is desperate to find him a new club and Liverpool are now frontrunners for his signature. Manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to enter the market for a new goalkeeper this summer. Simon Mignolet is expected to make way with Belgium international having played in just one game – the 3-2 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup – since New Years Day.
But there is a perceived reluctance on Donnarumma’s part to leave AC Milan and that could prevent him from being sold. The 19-year-old came up through the Serie A side’s academy and made his first-team debut at the age of just 16. He has gone on to make over 120 appearances for the club. He looked set to leave last summer, but with Raiola actively looking for a new club he decided that he wanted to stay and signed a new contract to 2021.
