Talisca Close To Manchester United Transfer?
Manchester United have come to a preliminary agreement with the Brazilian striker Anderson Talisca according to reports from Turkey.
Talisca has been on loan for the past two seasons at Besiktas where he has scored 31 goals in 80 games in all competitions. The 24-year-old looks set to return to his parent club Benfica following the conclusion of the Turkish season.
But according to Turkish journalist Firat Gunayer, there is already an agreement in place between the striker and Manchester United – though not with Benfica.
“Talisca has signed a preliminary protocol with Manchester United,” Gunayer tweeted on Sunday.
“Benfica, however, has not yet agreed with the British. Besiktas also taking 21 and sell to other clubs.”
The ’21’ he refers to is the €21million (£18.4million) fixed fee in the loan agreement that Besiktas would have to pay Benfica to make the move permanent. But the Turkish side have been unable to raise the necessary funds. They offered Benfica six instalments of €3.5million each but that offer was rejected by the Portugese club.
Jose Mourinho has long been an admirer of Talisca. The Manchester United boss wanted to sign the striker when he was manager of Chelsea, but Talisca’s passport situation prevented any deal from being done as he doesn’t have an EU passport. He has yet to make his full international debut for Brazil. As such he didn’t qualify for a UK work permit when Chelsea were linked in 2015 and he would only do so now if the transfer fee is sufficiently high enough.
But Besiktas coach Senol Gunes admits that signing Talisca on a permanent basis has always been a big ask and that it hasn’t been on the cards for the past few months.
“Talisca was already gone at the winter break,” Gunes said at the weekend.
“I’m sorry that he won’t be with us any longer.
“I wish he could stay for his sake and ours. He already had a deal in place.”
Whether that deal was with Manchester United remains to be seen.
Fellaini In AC Milan Link
Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is ready to sign a three-year deal with AC Milan.
Reports from his native Belgium claim the 30-year-old has been offered a contract that is three times longer than the single-year deal on offer from United. Fellaini officially becomes a free agent at the end of next month.
Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, Besiktas and clubs in China have also been linked.
Fellaini was reported at the weekend to have already moved out of his Cheshire mansion.
