Midfielder Set For £52m Move
Liverpool are aiming to complete the signing of Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir in the coming weeks.
According to Canal+ journalist Olivier Tallaron on Saturday night the deal is “99 percent done”.
Liverpool will pay €60million (£52.5million) for Fekir who has scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 30 Ligue 1 games for Lyon in what has been the best season of his career.
Either Lyon or Liverpool are expected to confirm the move with an announcement expected in the coming weeks.
Arsenal have also been linked with Fekir although a move to the Emirates now looks unlikely.
Liverpool were themselves denying reports of a deal earlier this month.
Can Juventus Move Likely
Liverpool look set to lose midfielder Emre Can with a move to Juventus set to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Germany international Can, who has been out of action through injury since he was substituted in the Reds’ 5-0 win over Watford on 17 March, is out of contract this summer.
Rumours have been circulating since January over a contract with the Serie A side that would see him pick up wages of €5million a year after tax – the equivalent of £150,000 a week gross.
But speaking to Premium Sport in Italy on Saturday, Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta said he was “optimistic” that a deal can be done after the Reds appear in next week’s Champions League Final.
Can is at Liverpool’s training camp in Marbella as they prepare for Saturday’s clash with Real Madrid in Kiev. However, he isn’t expected to be considered for the match.
“Emre is here, that’s good – having him in the group is always good, a fantastic boy,” said Klopp.
“We will see what we can do with him, there’s still a little bit of work to do, but good to have him here.”
